Name of Unit:		Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs
Main Duty:		1.Follow and execute the guideline, policies of Party Central Committee and State Council on ethnic and religious work and the laws and rules of the State. Organize and conduct the investigation and study on ethnic and religious issues. Constitute the specific policy and execution proposal for ethnic and religious work. Entrusted to draft the local rules and regulations for ethnic and religious work administration, and organize the execution after the examination and approval. Supervise the execution of relevant policies, laws and regulations for ethnic and religious affairs. 2.Organize and supervise the publicity and education work for the ethnic and religious policies, laws and rules. 3.Supervise and monitor the construction of ethnic region autonomous system. Supervise the handling of minority right & interest guarantee affairs. 4.Assist and organize personnel department to train, educate and use minority cadres, link with and train minority cadres. 5.Study the economy and social development of minority people, minority township and villages and submit policy advise. Advance the corresponding support of economically developed regions to ethnic regions. Conduct the work of Support the Poor for ethnic regions together with relevant departments. Cooperate the education department in charge to undertake relevant tasks, i.e. educational aid to ethnic regions and education support to ethnic group. 6.Legally protect the citizen's freedom to follow religions, protect the legal right of religion corporate and religious activity site. Protect religious instructors to perform normal religious activities. 7.Supervise religious activities and sites according to law, coordinate religious corporate to contact relevant department, guide religious corporate to conduct their work according to the religious features and within the scope of law. Stop and prevent illegal fraction from committing illegal or law-violating activities by utilizing religions. 8.Promote the self-education of religion personnel on patriotism, socialism, support peaceful unification of the county and people's unity, consolidate and develop the united patriotic front line with the religions, unite and mobilize the broad religion followers to serve the Opening & Reform and economic construction. 9.Contact religious representatives, coordinate religious corporate to conduct training, education and utilization work for religion instructors. 10.Manage ethnic religious foreign affairs, organize and coordinate the foreign exchange activities in the field of ethnic religious work. Support and help religious circles to conduct friendly exchange with Hong Kong & Macao special administration regions and Taiwan, and handle relevant tasks. 11.Assist the people's government of districts and counties (cities) to handle the paroxysmal incidents related to religions and the problems influencing social stability. Supervise the professional work of ethnic & religious departments of the people's government of districts counties (cities). 12.Accomplish other work assigned by Municipal Government.
