Total retail sales of the consumer goods of the whole city achieved 111.237 billion yuan, up by 14 percent over the previous year. In terms of the different areas, that of the urban area was 105.766 billion yuan, up by 14 percent and that of the rural area reached 5.47 billion yuan, up by 15.4 percent. In terms of the different sectors, the retail sales of wholesale and retail sector was 98.866 billion yuan, up by 13.6 percent and that of the catering sector 11.975 billion yuan, up by 17.9 percent.
　　By the end of 2006, there were 101 chain retails, catering and accommodation enterprises above designated size as well as 3,586 chain stores in the city with an annual retail volume of 26.303 billion yuan, up by 22.7 percent over the previous year, which accounted for 23.6 percent of the total retail sales of consumer goods, increased 7.3 percentage points compared with the previous years.
　　By the end of the year, there were 725 commodity-trading markets (including those markers managed by provincial sectors) of various sorts in the city, of which 603 consumer goods markets and 122 production means markets. The total trading volume of the commodity markets reached 193.9 billion yuan, up by 32.2 percent over the previous year.
